Darjeeling Tea Estate Tour

After arriving at the Delhi airport in the late afternoon, meet our representative who will drive you to one of our listed hotels. The rest of the day will be dedicated to leisure. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

The morning begins with a sightseeing tour of New and Old Delhi, including major attractions such as Jama Masjid, India Gate, and Parliament House, as well as visits to Humayun's Tomb, Red Fort, Gandhi Memorial, and Qutub Minar. Night at the hotel.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport to board the flight to Bagdogra. On arrival at Bagdogra Airport, meet our representative, who will assist with a hassle-free transfer for you to the Glenburn Tea Estate. The journey to Glenburn Tea Estate follows the course of the Teesta River. When you reach the bridge that takes you across the river to Sikkim, start climbing towards Darjeeling and then into the Glenburn Valley. When you arrive at the Glenburn Tea Estate, settle into one of the two bungalows of your choice. Enjoy an overnight stay at the bungalow in Glenburn.

In the morning, after breakfast, embark on a guided tea tour. The tour begins with a presentation, that gives a brief overview of Glenburn's history and the process of producing and growing tea. After the introduction, proceed to the tea fields with the property manager, who will explain how the tea bush is grown and cared for. Learn the art of plucking 'two leaves and one bud' while strolling through the tea field. Later in the day, visit the tea nursery to learn about the different varieties of tea plants and the process of transplanting them when they are ready. Stop for lunch on the banks of the Rung Dung River. Visit the hillside plant after lunch to see the withering, rolling, fermentation, drying, and finally sorting processes in action. The day ends with a tea tasting. night in bungalows.

The next morning, after breakfast, settle into a waiting jeep to take you through the Simbong Forest to the Rung Dung River.

Take the small suspension bridge to cross the river and reach Badamtam Forest. As you walk through the forest, enjoy the sight of beautiful birds, butterflies, animals, and the rich plant life found in the forests. After completing an hour of walking, you will reach the town of Manjitar. Visit the royal kingdom of Sikkim and the local Shiv temple. Enjoy a picnic-style lunch served along the way. Watch a volleyball match between the local police and the villagers every day at 4:30 p.m. while drinking tea. Enjoy an overnight stay in a bungalow.

In the morning, after breakfast, departure for a full-day excursion to Darjeeling. Visit Tiger Hill, famous for panoramic views of Kangchenjunga and Mount Everest. Then, enjoy a ride on the famous toy train through the scenic Batasia Loop, continuing to the nearby towns of Ghoom and Kurseong. Enjoy a hot cup of coffee as you stroll down the mall street. For lunch, try a more typical local restaurant and try a traditional "momo and thukpa" meal. At the end of the day, you can visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute Zoo, which includes two museums, the Everest Museum, and the Mountaineering Museum. The zoo and the two museums are managed by the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. In the evening, visit the Ghoom Monastery and return to the Glenburn Tea Estate. Night in bungalows.

After breakfast, departure for Lamha Haata Orchard. On the way, we will visit the Clooney Sisters church and school. Take a 10-minute drive from the bungalow to start the hike that leads to Lamha Haata Orchard. The trail is quite steep, going up another 10 minutes to the orchard, and has spectacular views of the surrounding hillside. Have tea with our resident caretaker, before starting the descent towards the main track where the jeep awaits you. Also, visit the Buddhist and Sai Baba centers within the estate. In the evening, return to the farm to spend the night in a bungalow.

In the morning, after breakfast, leave early for a full-day excursion to Glenburn Camp. You can walk down the hill or drive the whole way stopping along the way for short walks at various points of interest. On the way, you will pass through Bora Gaon village and Simbong tea division, passing Sim Jhora (stream and waterfall), and finally Simbong forest area. Snacks will be provided along the way, and a jeep will be nearby in case a guest feels tired and decides to drive the rest of the way. Once at Glenburn Campsite, on the banks of the River Rungit, guests have the option of paddling in the rock pools, fishing, bird watching, relaxing on the sandy beach, and taking short walks along the river. In the afternoon, start the journey back to the bungalow. Night in bungalows.

In the morning, after breakfast, transfer to Bagdogra airport to board the flight to Delhi. Upon arrival at Delhi airport, check-check one of our listed hotels. Enjoy dinner and overnight at the hotel.
